On June 8, 2011 Kathy
welcomed me back from Germany, saying she hoped I’d had a grand adventure and “no ill effects from
assorted veggies in Germany.” (There had
been an e-coli scare.) I was touched that
Kathy was so thoughtful with all that was going on on the home front. I was also happy to hear that what was going
on on the home front was good! She
described Mom as feeling more comfortable with the group and the activities at
Aegis. “She even performed a piano
concert, on the other side, to much applause from the residents.”
Kathy suggested that we get together for lunch or dinner after she returned from a
three-day trip to see her aunt in Pasadena and I’d recovered from my trip. I didn't need any recovery time, but Kathy had so little as the one arranging around-the-clock care for her 95-year-old aunt in Pasadena.
