Here's my picnic cart on a deserted trail more west of 14th Avenue than east despite the address of WalkSF's picnic at The Whale's Tail being given as 14th Ave East Picnic Meadow

I don't see why they give such a confusing address when they could just say Enter at Park Presidio Blvd/12th Avenue in the Rose Garden and turn right onto  JFK Promenade, which is what I did after I felt lost here.  Public transportation is right there on Fulton, so that's where people would be getting off the bus.  

 

 

If I were less awed by having this picture of Nancy Pelosi graciously taking my hand, I would have the character to have Thea Selby's picture here first because I think she was the great organizer of this terrific event.  I think I might have time on Monday to give some details, but for now, I'll just share pictures.  

I'll be taking my first official tour of the Salesforce Garden this coming week, but I visited it shortly after it first opened in August 2018.  It opened on August 11th, and I informally toured it on August 16th.  Then it closed six weeks later because of cracked steel beams!  

Initial Opening: August 11, 2018 (closed six weeks later due to cracked steel beams).

Reopening: July 1, 2019, after structural repairs were completed and cleared.

Features: Includes 600 trees and 16,000 plants organized into 13 distinct botanical garden zones along a 0.6-mile walking loop.

I went back with Jenny in August 2019, and in September 2022, I went to a writing workshop there.

I took Jenny back to the Salesforce Park in July 2024th:
