Javier
and Walter have been planning our trip to New Mexico—the first road trip I’ll
have taken since I was a kid and Daddy used to drive us across the USA in three
days—good training for my last major road trip, which was a trip from Medea (88
k. from Algiers) to Tamanrasset. Today I
also heard from Jutta, my penpal since 1963, who was 20 k. from Santiago in the
Camino de Santiago de Compostela, and from a retired friend Bill, who wrote
about the three-week trip he’s taken with his cousin from Toledo to Portugal
and now to Madrid . So it seems fitting
that I feature the travels Mom had with Kathy.
