Sweet Message from an Absent Student

I really ought to copy and paste ALL the sweet messages I get because they can soothe at times when I feel battered and bruised.  Here's one from a student who was absent from class yesterday:

Dear Tina

I went to Los Angeles on my husband's business trip.I didn't make it back on time. This is why I didn't tell you on Monday.I thought I could. It was my fault that I didn't have any excuse for that. I didn't attend to their business meeting. But after that, I could stay with the great people who are so successful in their area and we ended up with volunteer group working.I APPRECIATED  everything  that I experienced in Los Angeles except I worried my class.

I sincerely want to say thank you to you ! Because you are the only person who indicated what's wrong  that I I have done for a long time! I hope I can have the pleasure to learn more of instruction from you when you get time.I appreciate that whatever how busy you are, you always reply our emails and so polite,so considerate ! Our homework, you put a lot of effort inside to help us correct the errors as possible as you can ! You are the one who always save your students out of their embarrassment and encourage them always.

Thank you Tina! ! ! My instructor!

Good night!

Your Esl 142 003 student (Anon)

I love to think that someone finds me encouraging instead of discouraging.  But this is a very special student.

I don't think this is the kind of community-provided bench the SF Chronicle was talking about today in its article https://www.sfchronic...
