Today's View and Chew, the monthly rendezvous of Francophiles-Francophones at Salon Liu, didn't take place as planned because one person called in sick, and two others forgot that they had visitors. So our gracious host invited me to the Olympic Club, and a former student who now works there heard my voice and came out. "Tina!" He didn't recognize me by face, hair color, or body, but he knew my voice. This was the voice that told him that, the second time around, he was passing the level he needed to enter the Culinary Arts Program. Now he was working at the Olympic Club and was even unionized!
