Plastic Bag Lobby creates Environment-Curriculum

It's about time that I wrapped up my month of Life Style Changes--my project for the environmental science class I'm taking at CCSF.  But before I summarize the impact it's had on me, I'll share a couple of other things, like my question about being picked up versus meeting Kathy and Suzy next weekend when they treat me to brunch at Greens.  Which spews the most carbon--their going out of their way to pick me up, or our taking two cars?  I'll probably opt for meeting them there because I assume that's more convenient for them.

I also want to find out more about the lawn--drip system-questions because some friends said they really tried to go with a more eco-friendly system and found that it was both more expensive and not-advised by the "expert" they talked to, who said a drop system wouldn't get as far down to nourish the roots.  I asked my friend, "Was this expert reviewed by three scientists?"  I also sent her the link for the video we saw of a natural scientist lamenting the wasted water she saw in lawn sprinkler systems--watering more of the pavement sometimes than the lawns!

But here's the link I have as subject for this blog:

Apparently California Watch found out that whole sections of an 11th-grade teacher's edition guide for the EPA mandated environmental curriculum on plastic gags was written by the plastic gags lobby, more or less!
In fact, a whole section in the curriculum is "Advantages of Plastic Shopping Bags."   This is being changed!

I don't think this is the kind of community-provided bench the SF Chronicle was talking about today in its article https://www.sfchronic...
