Anniversaries

Three anniversaries are coming up in September:  The ninth anniversary of the Club Toruno-Martin, the tenth anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center, and the fiftieth anniversary of the Peace Corps, so I feel that I should focus on these anniversary.  The Club Toruno-Martin is so exclusive that it probably doesn't belong on something as public as a blog--not if we can trust Emily Dickinson, who reminds me that I've never created a personal profile, so maybe she can help me:

I'm nobody! Who are you?
Are you nobody, too?
Then there's a pair of us--don't tell!
They'd banish us, you know. How dreary to be somebody!
How public, like a frog
To tell your name the livelong day
To an admiring blog!

Maybe she didn't really say blog.  Maybe she left out the l.  It's not my favorite poem by her, but it is the one that was used in Adventures in Literature--or was it Adventures in Appreciation?   Whatever it was, I remember that I memorized all of the poems to compensate for my inability to focus in math class.

So...I want talk about the Club Toruno-Martin yet.  Maybe I'll wait for our tenth anniversary.  But I'll see whether I can combine the tenth anniversary of our latest justification for bombing, invading, and occupying countries with the fiftieth anniversary of the Peace Corps.

I don't think this is the kind of community-provided bench the SF Chronicle was talking about today in its article https://www.sfchronic...
